Chef Contos is Judging a Cocktail Competition at Waterworks - Join In

 It's time to "shake it up” with the Burlington Wine & Food Festival!

Join us at Waterworks with ten of the area’s best bartenders:  representatives will be on hand from Misery Loves Co., Mule Bar, A Single Pebble, Kismet, Juniper, Edson Hill, Hen of the Wood, E.B. Strong’s, Daily Planet and Junction at the Essex.  These mixologists will compete to see who can craft the best cocktail “on the fly!”  You’ll watch all of the action up close in the Waterworks bar area, with big-screen TV’s capturing every moment of the mixology action.

Contestants will craft their libations using spirits from four of our local Vermont companies participating in the festival:  Caledonia Spirits, Smugglers Notch Distillery, Appalachian Gap Distillery and Vermont Spirits Distilling Company, along with a variety of other “secret ingredients” of their choosing.

A panel of five celebrity judges, including renowned New York mixologist Justin Briggs, tequila expert and author Lucinda Hutson, and Chef Courtney Contos of the Chef Contos Kitchen & School in Shelburne, will judge each of the entries based on three categories:  presentation, taste and creativity.

Your ticket will include a sample of each of the competition cocktails, and you’ll help us select the “People’s Choice” award by voting for your favorite of the group.  In addition, you’ll feast on flatbreads and other light fare provided by your host, Waterworks.

Only 40 tickets are available to this event!  Tickets are $37 and include all taxes and gratuity in the price of the ticket, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the show!
